Casper makes one perfect mattress for everyone. After seeing a broken industry, we tested hundreds of materials and thousands of combinations before we decided on our proprietary, patent-pending construction that works for the vast majority of sleeping positions, body types, and slumber eccentricities. High-density memory foam and a springy comfort layer come together to create a sleep surface that contours to your body and keeps you cool, balanced, and most importantly, supported through the night.
The Casper mattress is meticulously engineered to meet the Goldilocks standard of “just right”. That means it's not too firm nor too soft. It provides the cradled support of memory foam, while offering a bouncy surface for sitting or other bedroom activities.
The general rule of thumb when considering a surface for your Casper is the firmer, the flatter, the better. Believe it or not, the type of support that rests under your Casper is just as important as the different layers of foam, and can ultimately affect the lifespan and performance of your bed.
The best option is a slatted base frame (with slats no more than three inches apart) or a firm platform. With metal frames, you want to make sure that the base has unyielding wooden slats that are thick enough to support the bed.
Box springs are not necessary compatible with the Casper — but some people want a little higher bed. Any low profile foundation with slats can be used in place of a box spring. If you are using a box spring designed for a spring mattress, we recommend using a bunkie board between the mattress and the box spring.tic dunlop latex foam.
The Casper mattress is meticulously engineered to be neither firm nor too soft. When you lie down, the heavier parts of your body (like the hips and shoulder areas) will sink lower than others and be supported by the poly foam. One layer higher, the memory foam will work to alleviate pressure points and provide additional softness. Lastly, at the surface, the springy comfort layer keeps you cool by creating a light barrier between you and the contouring layers, allowing air to flow around you. The marriage of all these materials makes Casper so uniquely comfortable.
The Casper mattress does not contain any flame retardant chemicals. The flame retardant used is a proprietary woven silica sock that’s just under the cover. In the event of a fire, the sock melts on itself and suffocates the oxygen needed for the fire to burn.
The Casper is designed to rest on any firm, flat surface. This includes platform beds, standard box springs and slatted bases. Just make sure that the wooden slats directly support the mattress and there is no more than 3" between each slat.
Your mattress will be delivered 4-7 business days after purchase. It will ship directly from Casper to your door via UPS. The mattress is delivered in a compact, rectangular box, along with easy-to-follow instructions on how to unroll and unpack your mattress.
Once you take the mattress out of its box, it will expand and be ready to sleep on within minutes.
The Casper has a soft washable cover. To wash, zip it off, wash in cold water and hang up to dry. Avoid putting it in the dryer so that it doesn't shrink. We also recommend using a breathable mattress protector over the cover.
