Katrina Vonnegut and her partner Brian Kraft make up Vonnegut/Kraft, a young design studio in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. We love their graphic, gutsy approach to furniture making. "We aim to create functional works with a sculptural approach, that utilize craft and technology," explains Katrina. Just for us, the duo designed a bed and bench in their clean–lined, contemporary style. Katrina and Brian offer some insights into the ideas behind their west elm collection: "We were inspired by repeating patterns in textiles and architecture, and Japanese op art."

"We draw inspiration from new materials and textures," explain Katrina and Brian.
