Reactive Glaze Collection

Reactive Glaze Dinnerware

When you’ve put so much time and effort into preparing a meal, you want your table setting to be striking and impressive to guests. At west elm, we have beautiful reactive glaze dinnerware that highlights your culinary creations and is sure to gain many admiring comments from everyone sitting around your dining table.

The porcelain dinnerware has an unusual finishing technique known as reactive glaze. It leaves variegated coloring on the surface of the dinnerware so that each piece is unique in its design. The exquisite finish makes the one-of-a-kind pieces a must for your dining experiences.

Made in Portugal, this collection is available in two colors. The black and white dinnerware is incredibly distinctive with a white center that gradually extends into a mottled black edging, which almost resembles a marbled effect. Each piece has trim in a contrasting color for a stylish finish. The dusty mint dinnerware is reminiscent of a gem stone that’s been sliced open with the mottled center expanding outwards into circles of varying hues of the green coloring.

Take a hit of caffeine to wait you up in the morning using a glazed mug for your tea or coffee. The trim of the black and white mug extends down the handle for a pleasant contrast while the other design looks as though a white mug has been dipped in a dusty mint solution that’s gradually seeping down the sides. If your drink needs reheating, put your mug in the microwave for a quick blast of heat.

The bowls in this collection are deep, allowing for many uses. Fill one up with cereal and milk for breakfast in the morning or opt for a salad or pasta dish at lunchtime. Have soup as a starter or just use the bowl to store nibbles, such as nuts or crisps, which you can pass around to guests. These versatile bowls are incredibly pretty and are a great idea to give as gifts.

While you can use one of these bowls to eat salad from, it’s nice to have a salad plate as part of the table setting when entertaining. The pretty plates are ideal for plating an individual helping of salad before the meal or to have next to the dinner plate as an accompaniment.

Instead of just serving the main dishes straight onto the plates, present them on oval platters for a special touch. Either serve guests directly from the platters or leave them on the dining table for guests to help themselves. Now you can sit down too and enjoy your meal while everyone admires your new dinnerware and compliments your cooking skills.
