Textured Dinnerware

Decorate your kitchen or dining room table with added pizzazz to impress your guests. To do this, consider starting with textured dinnerware. You can just feel the difference on the dishes. Lines, dots and a honeycomb pattern are designs you’ll find in many types of dinnerware and serveware to make a great table presentation.

Set the dinner table with matching textured dinner and salad plates in whichever pattern you like best. Fold decorative cloth napkins and place them by the plates. Choose from napkins with funky frayed edges, elegant medallion designs or tassel embroidered napkins. Or go for a bold color block or a stunning Belgian flax. The napkins enhance each of the place settings.

Place a table runner in the center of the table. You might want to use one that coordinates with the napkins. Some patterns match identically to the napkins, while others create a balance. Gold metallic or neutral weaves can really go with most any motif. The runner adds to the decor while also protecting the surface of the table.

Textured serving dishes and platters can rest on the runner. Guests can pass the serving pieces around when it comes time to fix their plates. Keep the textured salt and pepper shakers in the center, so everybody can reach them when they want to add some seasoning to their plates. Candles situated on the table will add a little ambience. Colors can blend with the colors in the table linens or the colors can be completely different. The fragrance that is emitted might be a combination of herbs and citrus. Or the candle might have a beachy or woodsy scent. It doesn’t have to be a candlelight dinner to use candles, as they add a cozy vibe to any setting.

Serve after dinner coffee or tea in textured mugs that match the plates. The double wall glass carafe or the stainless-steel kettle serves coffee or hot tea at the table with elegance. Coffee and tea connoisseurs will appreciate the excellence each time they refill their cup.

Pass a serving bowl of doughnut holes or confections around the table to go with the coffee and tea. Guests will enjoy a sweet treat while lingering for more conversation. At the end of the evening when the guest have gone home, table has been cleared and the candles blown out, you can rest in the thoughts of another elegant meal served with hospitality, class and great company.
