Glassware Accessories

Glassware accessories include many types of coasters to protect furniture. Decorative designs complement the decor of your home. They also make great housewarming or wedding gifts. Natural agate, slate and olivewood give off an earthy vibe. Lava rock, linear gold and white ash have a contemporary appearance. Many can be personalized with a monogram. Any of the coasters can be left out on display when not in use. Keep them in a dining room, den or living room to be on hand when you need them. They will also be handy outside on a porch or balcony.

In the dining room, you might use coasters on a dining table when serving a meal to guests or your family. They can be a part of the place settings to hold iced tea, water or wine. Store them on a buffet or in a china cabinet. Have them nearby in a bar area for entertaining to ensure that cocktails land on the coasters.

In a den or living room, have them on end tables and coffee tables. By having them readily available, guests will be more apt to use them. Many times someone visiting doesn’t know your preference as to whether to use a napkin, coaster or nothing at all under their drinks. Having the coasters right there lets them know without having to ask, and this will protect the surface of the furniture.

Decorative coasters work well on a nightstand or dresser in guest, kid’s or master bedrooms. Many people take a glass of water to bed. A coaster on the nightstand can keep it right beside the bed without getting condensation on the furniture. In the morning, if they grab a cup of coffee to get ready, the coaster can hold the mug safely away from the dresser.

Take the coasters outside to use on outdoor dining tables or bistro tables. This will be especially helpful in humid conditions to hold a bottle or can of beer or a soda. It will also protect tops of tables in winter if you have hot cocoa or coffee.

Coasters from our selection at west elm are eco-friendly because they are reusable. Unlike paper napkins that have to be thrown away, coasters won’t take up space in a landfill. You can also use coasters inside or outside to place under a plant that gets watered or under a vase. They also work well under a pitcher of lemonade or a decanter of sangria.
